Custodian workers and students rally against budget cuts!

. Saturday, May 23, 2009

Custodian workers at UW are also fighting against the top-down manner in which the budget cuts were imposed. They face cuts in the swingshift and layoffs. Many families rely on these shifts to support their family. Read here for more.

Many have said that the economic crisis has been used as an excuse to further exploit the workers.
Gene Woodard, the head of the custodial facilities at UW, continues to make $ 133, 560.

An average custodian makes about $ 24, 000

If it was really about money, then why won't Gene take a pay cut?

Join us at 1130am on Thurs May 28th on Red Square to demand that

Check out this flyer that students and custodians collaborated on. Please distribute widely.
